About the Project

TRUST is an 18-month project running across four phases.

Preparatory phase. This information gathering stage contemplates the elaboration of the first discussion papers. A Steering Committee monitors the organizational aspects of the whole process.

Sectoral workshops. Seven two-day sectoral workshops - corresponding to ETF sections: Civil Aviation, Fisheries, Ports, Road, Railways, Maritime Transport, Inland Waterways - discuss a common agenda based on four core topics:

The Lisbon Strategy and transport workers
Restructuring and developments in the transport sectors
Transport and Environment
Infrastructure financing, state aids and the role of states

Cross-sectoral conferences. Conclusions stemming from the sectoral workshops, compiled in policy papers, are discussed in three cross-sectoral conferences aimed at building a common view on the core topics.

Final Conference. Results of the whole exercise are presented in a closing event, where trade unions make public their final contribution on Sustainable Transport for a Sustainable Social Europe.
