Page context: ETF Home > CEEC (Central & East European Countries)
The ETF is working with its Central and Eastern European affiliates towards a full integration of their members in ETF section work; it promotes social dialogue and builds capacity amongst unions to respond to the challenges of EU enlargement and globalisation. The ETF works with all Central and Eastern European countries where it has affiliates. Issues for these unions include the challenge of organising the growing private sector and multinationals, and in parallel, the emergence of new forms of labour representation – such as European Works Councils. Increased participation in the ETF activities and a shift toward campaigning and the formation strategic partnerships is assisting with these challenges.
The Pan-European Corridor Project was developed by the ETF and ITF in 2000. See ITF/ETF Corridor Project Page for more information.
